Jim Lee Draws Adam West’s Batman For Charity Auction

by Olly MacNamee

Next weekend, as part of the Stan Lee Los Angeles Comic Con, Jim Lee and other comic book artists will be auctioning off artwork to support St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital as part of a larger Batman ’66 panel paying tribute to Adam West.

On October 28 from the Main Stage, Stan Lee’s Los Angeles Comic Con is proud to present an unforgettable, must-attend tribute honoring Adam and his legacy: a very special Batman ‘66 panel featuring original Batman cast Burt Ward, Julie Newmar and Lee Meriwether, and hosted by Ralph Garman and Kevin Smith.

Along with Jim Lee, other artists contributing are:
Rob Liefeld, Butch Hartman, James Tucker, Mike Vosberg, Ruben Procopio, Ty Templeton, Butch Hartman, Megan Hutchinson, Geek Fine Art, Logan Lugeria, Ray Anthony Haight, Zack Morrisette, Joe Benitez and more to come.

To further honor Adam, the show floor of the L.A. Comic Con will host a Batman Charity Art Gallery presented by Ralph Garman Meltdown Comics. This unique auction will be in booth #1345 Participating will be a variety of noted Batman artists and celebrities who will donate pieces for purchase, with all proceeds donated in Adam West’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

LA’s a long way for me to trek, so I’ll have to give this one a pass. But, of you are going and are considering picking up a con sketch, this is one way of doing so and supporting a worthy cause.
