Forbidden Planet NYC Hosts A Hurricane Maria Relief Signing Nov. 15th

by Hannah Means Shannon

Forbidden Planet NYC has announced a significant charity-focused signing coming up on Wednesday, November 15th. Proceeds will benefit survivors of Hurricane Maria, which devastated Puerto Rico. At the event, bins will be available for supply donations, and five dollars from every sale will go to a relief fund.

Forbidden Planet NYC says:
Forbidden Planet NYC is proud and excited to host a signing night to benefit the Hurricane Maria relief efforts!
We’ll be welcoming comic creators Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez (La Borinqueña, Freaks) and Gabby Rivera (America, Juliet Takes a Breath) for this event, offering the NYCC exlusive 3rd printing variant of La Borinqueña and the beautiful new paperback edition of the first volume of America Chavez. $5 from the sale of every book goes directly towards the relief effort.
We will also have bins up at the front of the store throughout the day. Drop off whatever dry goods you can spare. In particular, we are looking for:
-Tampons
-Diapers
-Baby formula
-Child and adult pain relievers
So please stop by! Check out some amazing comics, meet some incredible creators, and help donate to a good cause. And if you’re inspired afterwards, keep donating in any way you can, since… well… that’s what superheroes do, right?

The event will run on November 15th from 6 to 8PM.
