Oddly Normal Creator Otis Frampton Reveals DC Comics Children’s Books

by Christine Marie Attardo

I’m a big fan of all things Otis Frampton. For those of you who don’t know, he’s the creator/writer/illustrator of Image Comics’, Oddly Normal, which is one of my favorite comics of all time.
Now he’s doing something extra awesome with DC Comics and Capstone!
Yesterday, he shared:

The premise from Capstone is quite endearing:

This series of picture books is designed to support school character education programs with action-packed examples of DC Super Heroes living out the pillars of character education. Filled with a wide cast of characters, the books invite readers to reread and take in all the details of the Super Heroes’ world. Each book features terms from the Six Pillars of Character framework and a glossary.

I like the idea of kids learning valuable lessons through some of our favorite Superheroes! As characters like Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman, etc. become even more popular and mainstream, kids will find books like this incredibly intriguing.
As far as I’m concerned, every teacher should order the entire series for their classrooms! What do you think? Would you pick these up for your kids? The release date is set for February 1st, 2018.
