Hellboy Captures A January 2019 Release Date

The Hellboy reboot will make its way to theaters on January 11th, 2019 according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film sees David Harbour take over Ron Perlman’s role as Hellboy, the demonic bringer of the End Times who’d really rather just eat some pancakes. Joining him are Ian McShane as Trevor Bruttenholm, Milla Jovovich as Nimue The Blood Queen, Daniel Dae Kim as BPRD Agent Ben Daimio, Sasha Lane as Alice, Penelope Mitchell as Ganeida, Sophie Okonedo as Lady Hatton, Alistair Petrie as Lord Adam Glaren and Brian Gleeson, as an unidentified wizard who may very well be Merlin.
At least, it’s sound speculation as the film, originally subtitled “Rise of the Blood Queen” appears to be based on more recent Hellboy stories like The Wild Hunt, The Storm and The Fury. In those tales, Hellboy is no longer a member of the BPRD, but is still confronting the supernatural as all the mystical creatures on Earth expect him to do what he was created to do: usher in the Apocalypse. Nimue and Ganeida both appear in those tales and while Merlin has never been an active participant in Hellboy, he and Nimue have a lot of history together.
Of course, the inclusion of Professor Broom, Ben Daimio and other characters suggests the story will be wildly different from, say, The Storm or The Fury.
Hellboy comes to theaters on January 11th, 2019.
