Actor Grace Fulton may soon find herself among the mightiest mortals.
The Annabelle: Creation veteran confirmed via her Instagram account that she will join the cast of Warner Bros. and New Line’s upcoming Shazam!, re-teaming her with director David F. Sandberg, who also confirmed her addition to the cast. “Thank you, Peter Safran and New Line for letting me join the Shazam club, I promise to keep its secrets!,” she wrote in a comment accompanying a photo of herself holding a Shazam! comic book.
One the secrets she and Sandberg are keeping is her role in the picture. Comicbook.com, who spotted the Instagram posts, suggests she could be Mary Marvel, another of Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) friends who becomes endowed with the powers of the Rock of Eternity to do good in the world. Fulton’s name was first bandied about in November, when Strong was first announced as Sivana. At the time, her potential character was described as ““one of Batson’s friends,” which led man sites, including Comicon.com, to assume she will play Mary.
Besides Angel, she joins Zachary Levi — who will portray Shazam in his superhero form — Mark Strong as the villainous Dr. Sivana, and It‘s Jack Dylan Grazer as Billy’s other superpowered pal, Freddy Freemore.
Shazam! is scheduled for release on April 5th, 2019.
