A Dark Origin With A Bright Future – Secret Weapons #0 This Week From Valiant

The highly anticipated one-shot prequel to Valiant’s critically acclaimed series Secret Weapons, arrives today in shops as a zero issue, written by Eric Heisserer, and illustrated by Adam Pollina.
The special one-shot has covers by Raul Allen, Veronica Fish, Sibylline Meynet, Sija Hong, and Adam Pollina.

The one-shot tells the origins of lead Secret Weapons team member Nikki Finch, and the suffering she endured at the hands of the Harbinger Foundation. This is a book bound to bring a tear to the eye of the toughest comic fan, but it will also teach us a lot about Nikki and why she’s awesome.

According to Valiant, she’s a “gifted athlete with an unusual set of medical ailments and high-aptitude test scores that have drawn the attention of an obscure and little-known NGO calling itself the Harbinger Foundation” in this issue.

She’s taken in for psiot activation by the Foundation, and faces the dangers of death during the procedure, with unforeseen outcomes. This is “Nikki’s story” and it needs to be told.
