A New Mystery For Betty In An Extended Riverdale Promo

 
While Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) might still be recovering from the fallout of the Black Hood — particularly considering the emotional toll it took on her — it seems she may be onto a new mystery. The CW released a new extended promo for the series’ mid-season return, and while it seems to focus more on Archie’s (KJ Apa) growing distrust of Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos), it also reveals Betty helping her mother Alice (Madchen Amick) find her long lost son Chic (Hart Denton). But in the quick cuts toward the end, Betty and Chic can be seen fleeing from someone down a dingy apartment block hallway. Is it the beginning of a new case for the teen detective?

And how about Archie’s tension with Hiram? He was never particularly thrilled with the Andrews boy hanging around his daughter, but is it possible he’d go for the jugular to end whatever relationship they have left? Or is it another dream sequence? The show sure likes to play with those in its teasers.
