Kid Flash’s Legends Of Tomorrow Status Clarified As Keiynan Lonsdale Becomes A Series Regular
by Erik Amaya
One of the empty seats on Legends of Tomorrow‘s timeship has been permanently filled.
Entertainment Weekly reports that The Flash cast member Keiynan Lonsdale has transferred to the Legends cast as a series regular.
Lonsdale has appeared on the series as Wally West before, and it has been known for sometime that Kid Flash would be visiting the Waverider, but it was unclear if this meant Lonsdale was leaving The Flash entirely until now. Granted, it is sort of a lateral move as all of the Arrowverse shows shoot near one another in Vancouver, British Columbia.
In this season of The Flash, Wally was sidelined by the return of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and found himself suddenly single when his Earth-2 girlfriend Jessie Quick (Violett Beane) broke up with him via a message cube. Since then, Wally has been searching for his place in the world and now, it seems, he’ll find it in time with the rest of the Legends misfits.
According to executive producer Phil Klemmer, “After being dumped and feeling somewhat estranged from his family/team, we knew that Wally West would fit in perfectly on Legends.”
I’m inclined to agree. Lonsdale was criminally underused in The Flash this year and this seems like the perfect place for him to end up considering his post-Crisis comics counterparts history with time travel.
Legends of Tomorrow returns February 12th.
