Anissa Gets Ready To Bring The Thunder In A Preview of Next Week’s Black Lighting
by Erik Amaya
The situation in Freeland continues to heat up as Tobias (Marvin “Krondon” James III) finally accepts that Black Lighting (Cress Williams) is alive. But it also seem that Black Lightning thinks Tobias is dead as well. So why would Gambi (James Remar) obscure evidence to the contrary? Meanwhile, Jeff’s return to being a hero comes with hard lessons, like discovering the bravery he inspires in people will put them in harms way.
But for the moment, let’s turn our attention to a preview of next week’s Black Lightning, which sees Anissa (Nafessa Williams) getting a little more secure with her newfound powers and attempting a first night patrolling the city. Or, at least, not holding back when danger finds her in a parking lot.
Also, I expect that dinner with Inspector Henderson (Damon Gupton) will be almost as fraught as this week’s family dinner, in which Jeff and Lynn (Christine Adams) faced Jennifer’s (China Anne McClain) pronouncement that she was going to have sex. That scene was hilarious, truthful and tense all at once. Hopefully Anissa’s argument with Henderson will contain some of that as well.
Black Lightning airs Tuesdays on The CW.
