The Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Face A Rough Homecoming In A Preview Of Next Month’s Episode

by Erik Amaya

The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D have finally made their way back to the past — or the present depending on your point of view — but it seems their homecoming will not be very joyous. As seen in this preview of the next episode, they are America’s most wanted fugitives (again) and a new military taskforce wants to bring them in post-haste. Wait, is that Madame Masque in the preview?

As mentioned previously, the show is going on hiatus until March 2nd to avoid a ratings drop during the 2018 Winter Olympics. It also seems they chose the right spot to pause with the team finally escaping the dark 2090s timeline and the machinations of Kasius (Dominic Rains). I’ll be honest, I’m going to miss Kasius. He was one of the best villains the show ever produced. It’s just a shame we never got to meet his father. Unless, of course, that missing part of Kasius’s family is the one who sets off Earth’s destruction. I wonder if he’s the threat Black Bolt (Anson Mount) was worried about over on Inhumans. Even if that show ends up cancelled, S.H.I.E.L.D. could pick up that piece of the story. Who knows? Maybe the Inhuman royal family will make one last appearance on finally be of some use.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns March 2nd on ABC.
