April Bowlby To Play Titan’s Elasti-Girl

Titans‘s Doom Patrol continues to find its cast.
According to Entertainment Weekly, April Bowlby will play Elasti-Girl on the DC-streaming series. She joins Bruno Bichir, who will play the Chief when the Doom Patrol visit the series during the fifth episode of its debut season. Created by Arnold Drake and Bruno Premiani just before the arrival of writer Bob Haney to the Doom Patrol concept, Rita Farr was an Olympic athlete and promising actress whose close encounter with colcanic gasses left her with the ability to elongate herself into seemingly impossible shapes and sizes. Initially lacking control on her new powers, she becomes a recluse until the Chief offers her aid.
The remaining original members of the team yet be cast include the Negative Man (a Haney creation) and Robotman; a character I cannot wait to see realized on the show.
Titans stars Blue Lagoon: The Awakening‘s Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Batman’s original Robin, who must assemble of new team of young heroes. Anna Diop also stars as Starfire with Teagan Croft as Raven and Ryan Potter as Beast Boy. Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly will also recur on the program as Hawk and Dove.
The series is expected to debut later this year.
