Chris Hemsworth In Talks To Join The Men In Black

Chris Hemsworth may be trading in his Avengers card for a neuralyzer and a nice black suit.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor is in talks to lead Sony’s new take on its Men in Black film series. Based on the Malibu comic book written by Lowell Cunningham with Sandy Carruthers on art, the original three-issue miniseries told the exploits of Agents Kay and Jay as they dealt with supernatural threats to the status quo. In a subsequent miniseries and a number of one-shots, an agent named Ecks learns the truth about the Men in Black and goes rogue. Besides the naming convention and the sleek suits, the series also introduced the neuralyzer; an important device in the film series directed by Barry Sonnenfeld.
If the negotiations are successful, Hemsworth’s character will be a new man brought into the agency some time after the events previous Will Smith/Tommy Lee Jones series. Like the Jurassic World films, the new MiB series will be set in the same universe with some elements continuing. THR also reports that the story will be set in London.
Fate of the Furious director F. Gary Gray will direct the film, which already has a June 14th, 2019 release date.
