“Big Gestures” – 3 Thoughts On Season 2: Episode 17 Of This Is Us
by Christine Marie Attardo
We only have two episodes left until the finale of This Is Us and after last episode, I’m feeling positive that things are going to be great for some, not so much for others.
[WARNING: SPOILERS This Is Us BELOW!]
One: It was so nice to see a bit more attention given to Kate and Randall’s relationship. It’s something that hasn’t been heavily addressed in the past and I think that’s because Kevin and Kate are often referred to as a package deal. I was really happy to see Kate step in between Randall and Beth, though it was risky. Overall, it led to some heartwarming conversations for all three characters that helped to further develop their feelings about each other.

Two: With that said, it would be impossible to not talk about Deja. While some may think that Randall is being a bit overbearing and obsessed I think he has great instincts. Deep down inside he knew that Deja might need help and well, he was very right.
Where do we go from here? Find out next Tuesday at 9/8c.

Three: It is OH SO GOOD to see Jack alive. I knew that we would get to see him and I knew it wouldn’t be the end of the flashback memories that make our hearts melt, but I wasn’t sure how it would feel. Turns out, it feels just as good. I absolutely adored the “Big Three” anniversary gesture and this quote below…
"A big grand gesture, it's not about the actual thing that you do…It's about intent. It's about taking the time to tell the person you care about, I see you I hear you, I know exactly what you need right now & I'm showing how important that is to me." – Jack#ThisIsUs

…this is why I love This Is Us. Moments like these are what make the show incredibly memorable. Even if you can’t relate to the mushy family stuff, it’s something that brings a smile to your face.

There are only two more episodes left until the end of Season 2. Next week’s episode is going to be all about Deja and her Mom. I’m really looking forward to seeing how it pans out. This Is Us airs on NBC on Tuesday’s at 9 p.m. but you can always stream it the day after on Hulu like me!
