Jude Law’s Dumbledore Debuts In Crimes Of Grindlewald Trailer
by Erik Amaya
Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first teaser for November’s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald and it features Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) in a very familiar classroom.
Of course, the Aurors from the Ministry of Magic would be interested in the activities of Newt Scamander, the crypto-zoologist who helped bring down dark wizard Grindlewald in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. But with the Dark Lord on the loose again and Dumbledore unable to face him head on — for reasons that will apparently not be discussed in the film — it’s up to Newt, Tina (Katherine Waterston), Queenie (Alison Sudol), and muggle Jacob (Dan Fogler) to take on the vile foe.
As mentioned before, the chemistry of the main four characters is the key charm here, spotted in the teaser when Jacob shouts for joy at being part of the adventure. And it seems life will mirror art as the actors’ combined strengths will just about make the presence of Depp bearable.
Also, isn’t it interesting to see Dumbledore in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom? I’m sure his past in that post has been mentioned before, but it is still startling to see on screen.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald opens on November 16th.
