More Lies Exposed In A Preview Of Next Week’s Black Lightning

Now that the truth about Gambi (James Remar) is out in the open — somewhat, anyway — it’s going to get tougher for the characters on Black Lightning to keep their secrets. And as seen in this preview of next week’s episode, Jennifer (China Anne McClain) is the one desperately in need of answers.
But, really, it was only a matter of time before Jennifer’s powers emerged and she would have to be trusted with the family secret. Then again, there are secrets in the family even Jefferson (Cress Williams) and Lynn (Christine Adams) are unaware of; like their connection to the earlier form of Greenlight and its effects on their daughters.
The notion that Greenlight was originally a “vaccine” tested in Freeland to keep the populace passive in the 1980s brushes up against the CIA’s use of crack cocaine in urban areas around the same time. I bet that’s the connection the show is trying to make with Gambi being a deep-cover operative of an agency known as the ASA. And like the crack epidemic, the effects cross generations. It will be interesting to see how much the Pierces learn about their connection to Greenlight in the remaining episodes of the season.
