Three New Image Collections On The Way: Coyotes, Dark Fang, Paradiso

by Hannah Means Shannon

In April and May, we’ll be getting three new volume 1 collections from Image Comics, bringing together the first arcs from major new series. Among them will be Coyotes Vol. 1 in April, and Dark Fang Vol. 1 and Paradiso Vol. 1 in May 2018.

Coyotes is written by Sean Lewis and illustrated by Caitlin Yarsky and is set:

In a dusty desert town on the southern border of the United States, women are going missing. Detective Frank Coffey is called in to investigate—and finds Red, a 13-year-old girl with a sword and a mission: to murder the werewolves stalking the border and picking women off one by one.

Coyotes Vol. 1 (ISBN: 978-1-5343-0647-9, Diamond code: JAN180663) hits comic book shops Wednesday, April 11th and bookstores Tuesday, April 17th.

Dark Fang Vol. 1: Earth Calling also has its toothy elements from writer Miles Gunter (B.P.R.D.) and artist Kelsey Shannon, arriving in May, where Valla, an aquatic vampire, attempts to keep humankind alive.

When the ocean-dwelling vampire finds her aquatic paradise destroyed by a dark liquid plague, Valla takes to the surface in search of answers. What she finds is a world on the brink of ecological disaster, and a civilization powerless to stop it. If Valla wants to keep eating, she’ll have to take down the fossil fuel industries.

Dark Fang Vol. 1: Earth Calling (ISBN: 978-1-5343-0654-7, Diamond code: FEB180548) hits comic book stores Wednesday, May 9th. It will arrive in bookstores Tuesday, May 15th and can be preordered via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Indiebound, Indigo, and Books-A-Million.

Paradiso Vol. 1: Essential Singularity is written by Ram V (Grafity’s Wall, Black Mumba), illustrated by Dev Pramanik (Nightbloom, Black Mumba), colored by Dearbhla Kelly (James Bond: Moneypenny), and lettered by Aditya Bidikar (Black Mumba) and arrives in May 2018. It features a living city with a will of its own, but an obscure will at that:

Centuries ago, civilization collapsed in a single cataclysmic event known as The Midnight. Now, it seems humanity is only able to thrive in one place: a living, breathing city called Paradiso. And it seems it’s drawn Jack Kryznan, a man haunted by fragments of old memories—and in possession of a mysterious device of awesome power—to its gates.

Paradiso Vol. 1: Essential Singularity (ISBN: 978-1-5343-0660-8, Diamond code: FEB180586) hits comic book stores Wednesday, May 16th.

Fans can find a special Book Market Edition cover (ISBN: 978-1-5343-0883-1) in bookstores on Tuesday, May 22nd. It can be preordered via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Indiebound, Indigo, and Books-A-Million.
