Handsome Prints: Vice Press And Titan Comics Partner On The Prisoner Comic Cover

by Olly MacNamee

I never, ever get to the front of the line for ANYTHING. But, last year at Thought Bubble, I managed to bag the very first of a limited edition print by Chris Weston and Vice Press celebrating The Prisoner’s 50th anniversary. It made my weekend, I must admit. Well, with this year being the 50th anniversary of its first broadcasting the Colonies, and Titan bringing out a new eponymously titled series, I’m glad to see Weston’s amazing print get a second lease of life adorning the first issue of the Peter Milligan penned series this Fall. Looks like that’ll be the cover I ask for at my LCBS.

The Prisoner is such an iconic, visual program with such a dedicated following,” said Creative Director for Vice Press (and Mondo regular), Matt Ferguson, “We were thrilled to be able to celebrate the 50th anniversary with this stylish poster by Chris Weston which marks the first in an ongoing series of releases dedicated to the show.”

“I’ve made no secret about how The Prisoner is my favourite television show of all time,” said Vice Press cover artist Chris Weston, “I have always wanted to create my own artistic tribute to The Prisoner. Fortuitously, my friends at Vice Press offered me the chance to fulfill my lifelong ambition to create a loving artistic homage, timed to coincide with the show’s 50th anniversary.”

Titan Comics’ all-new The Prisoner comics are available to order from the current February 2018 Diamond Previews catalogue. Or, ask at your LCBS., like I will when I pop in there this Wednesday.
