The Pestilence Comes To National City In A Preview Of Next Week’s Supergirl

by Erik Amaya

Supergirl is back after a long hiatus. And with its return comes a surprising revelation about Pestilence, the third of the Kryptonian Worldkillers. It also seems Kara (Melissa Benoist) learned the truth about the Legion’s mission and their connection to Pestilence just in time. In this preview of next week’s episode, it will make itself known to the citizens of Star City. Or, at the very least, Mon-El (Chris Wood) creates a very convincing simulation.
Meanwhile, Lena’s (Katie McGrath) investigation into Sam’s (Odette Annable) condition will lead to the startling truth about her friend: she is the Worldkiller known as Reign.

It only took an extra six episodes or so, but Mon-El is finally getting his proper outfit. Well, at least a version of it. I always prefer the tunic-and-pants looks to the one-piece, but at least the colors are correct. The throw-away line about his suit being “damaged” in last night’s episode is the perfect button to the costume conundrum. But you have to wonder why the production thought the black suits were a good idea to being with. Fidelity to the spirit of the costumes is so important on these shows.
Anyway, it’s good to have the show back and to see Jeremy Jordan get a spotlight episode after hanging out in the shadows for most of the season. Hopefully, the show will find away to balance its core cast more effectively in the weeks to come.
Supergirl airs Mondays on The CW.
