The Trial Of Oliver Queen Commences In A Preview Of Next Week’s Arrow

by Erik Amaya

Trials abound on The CW this year as Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) sees his day in court. And thanks to this preview of next week’s Arrow, we know it will be filled with theatrics on both sides. Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) has Black Siren (Katie Cassidy) to put the final nail in Ollie’s conviction, but it seems Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell) has plans of his own.

But how could it be Tommy Merlyn if he died five years ago? Theories abound from another Human Target appearance to a Tommy from an alternate Earth — the has to be one where he became the Hood, right? — but will his shocking appearance be enough to thwart Diaz’s plan?
And while we’re talking about Diaz, will he ever be the threat Black Siren and Anatoly (David Nykl) claim he is? How could he be a greater monster than Zoom? He even lost his only real fight on the show thus far. Well, lost until he stabbed Ollie. Maybe he’ll finally reveal the depth of his evil next week, but I’m just not seeing it.
Arrow airs Thursdays on The CW.
