Free Comic Book Day 2018: Head To Riverdale With Archie’s Offering

Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday, May 5^th and there will be a number of great titles available at your local comic retailer. Archie Comics is a Gold Sponsor of the event and will be offering a special free issue of Riverdale, featuring stories set in the world of the hit show on The CW of the same name.

The Riverdale FCBD issue is set in between episodes of the CW series. This issue takes a look at all the secrets Pop Tate overhears in his day-to-day business, told through four vignettes in four different booths.
The comic is written by CW show writers Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Ross Maxwell, and Will Ewing and illustrated by Joe Eisma. Archie even got some of the cast from Riverdale to encourage folks to check out their local shop on Free Comic Book Day!

Fans will also have the opportunity to meet some of the Archie Comics writers and artists who will be appearing at comic book shops across the country. Here’s the list of appearances:

• Joe Eisma (RIVERDALE, THE ARCHIES) – Zeus Comics and Collectibles in Dallas, TX from 10-4

• Matt Herms (JUGHEAD: THE HUNGER, COSMO, THE ARCHIES) – Comic Logic in Ashburn, VA
• Tracy Yardley (COSMO) – Richard’s Comics and Collectables in Greenville, SC from 11-5
• Adrian Ropp (JUGHEAD AND ARCHIE DIGEST) – Black Cat Comics in Salt Lake City, UT

You can find a participating comic book shop using the Comic Shop Locator site. If you stop by a shop on Saturday to pick up some free books, please also consider buying some other titles, toys, or nerdy items. These books are free for you, but the retailer has to pay to stock them in the store.
