Disney’s Zootopia Brings Us More All-Ages Comics In OGN From Dark Horse
by James Ferguson
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. We need more comics for kids. How else are we going to keep this industry going as audiences get older? Fortunately, there have been a bevy of all-ages and kids comics coming lately.
Dark Horse Comics has announced a new title entering the fray this September, based on characters from the Disney film, Zootopia. The graphic novel, Disney Zootopia: Friends to the Rescue contains two separate tales of friendship, one focusing on Judy Hopps as a kid in Bunnburrow and the other following Nick Wilde and his urban childhood experiences.
Disney Zootopia: Friends to the Rescue is written by Jimmy Gownley, illustrated by Leandro Ricardo da Silva, colored by Wes Dzioba, and lettered by Chris Dickey. Not only will fans get two fun adventurous stories, but they’ll also receive a variety of story-related activities and special features.
Both tales in Disney Zootopia: Friends to the Rescue find the characters in tricky situations. The first has Judy excited to tour the fun at the Bunnyburrow County Fair with her Pop Pop. Her friend Dinah has to sneak out of the house to join her. When Pop Pop says no to a hot air balloon ride, Judy gets her chance in the air when Dinah stumbles into trouble and needs rescuing.
The second story follows Nick as he learns it’s the thought that counts. He saves the day at his friend Hedy’s birthday party. While he might not have enough money to buy a gift, he has other talents that he puts to good use for a truly unforgettable celebration.
Disney Zootopia: Friends to the Rescue is scheduled for release on September 12th, 2018 and is now available to pre-order from Amazon.
