iZombie Renewed For Season Five

by Erik Amaya

Deadline reports that The CW’s iZombie will continue for a fifth season,
Based on the Vertigo comic book Chris Roberson and Mike Allred, Rose McIver stars as Liv Moore, a zombie who assists with criminal investigations thanks to her ability to recreate the memories and personas of the brains she eats on behalf of the county morgue. Meanwhile, other undead factions hope to create a world safe for zombies while Liv tires to maintain some semblance of her earlier life. Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley, David Anders and Aly Michalka also star.
While not the attention-getter its superhero cousins on the network receive, the show is still a strong enough ratings earner, beating out new CW shows like Valor and Life Sentence to remain in production. For the last few seasons, the show has been a mid-season replacement to keep its costs low and place in the CW schedule viable. The technique, and its loyal fanbase, have kept the show alive. No doubt the fans will be quite pleased with the news.
iZombie airs Mondays on The CW.
