Our First Look At Britannia: Lost Eagles Of Rome #1 By Milligan & Gill
by Hannah Means Shannon
Valiant have revealed a first look at the new upcoming series Britannia: Lost Eagles of Rome, with the return of Peter Milligan to writing duties and he’s joined by Robert Gill (Book of Death).
On July 25th, we’ll dive into the world of Rome’s first “detectioner” again, and this time we’re exploring the loss of a Roman standard, the eagle carried ahead of each Legion. In the Germanic forest of Tottenwald, a barbarian horde has triumphed and standards have been taken.
The mad emperor Nero has dispatched Antonius Axia and Achillia to reclaim these stolen relics at any cost. Described as “a terrifying journey into the dark heart of belief itself”, this new tale is bound to bring us “unseen dimensions”, too, as previous series have dabbled in the occult. This new self-contained story is bound to entertain, based on my experience of former arcs.
Covers on issue #1 will be by Cary Nord (Conan the Barbarian), Brian Thies (Star Wars: Legacy), and David Mack (Kabuki).
