Disney Confirms Maleficent 2 Is Now In Production

The day has finally come. The sequel to Disney’s Maleficent is now in production and I couldn’t be more thrilled. We have been waiting for what seems like forever for a simple peek into the highly anticipated film and now we have it!
Earlier today, Disney tweeted:

What? The news was made even better with Michelle Pfeiffer’s name being added into the mix. I absolutely adore her as an actress and know she will be able to bring the same high quality acting to the table that Angelina and Elle did. The first movie has a special place in my heart and I can’t wait to see where the story takes us.

The sequel picks up a few years after the first movie’s events and follows Maleficent and Aurora as they work together to protect the realm and all its creatures.
…and it looks like they’re having a great time filming already.
