Chill Out To The Gorillaz’ New Song Humility

by Tito W. James

The Gorillaz are a British virtual band comprised of animated characters. Created by Damon Albarn and Tank Girl artist, Jamie Hewlett in 1998, the band is still going strong a decade later. It’s good to see The Gorillaz back together reminding us all how to chill out.

Through the band’s history, The Gorillaz have used different animation styles to reflect the times. The characters have explored 2D, 3D, VR, and in their latest music video, mixed media.

The Gorillaz have added a new band member to fill in for Murdock, who’s in jail for being a super-villain. Ace from The Powerpuff Girls is joining the band. Ace was one of the first villains ever to fight the Powerpuff Girls in their original animated pilot The Whoopass Girls. This is an unexpected and fun little addition. I’d love to see more Cartoon Network characters from the 90’s make cameos in future Gorillaz music videos.

Check out the Gorillaz website for tour dates and buy tickets online.
