Denver Comic Con 2018: Some Opening Day Photos
by Hannah Means Shannon
Denver Comic Con is holding its seventh convention this weekend, and after several years of hosting over 100,000 attendees, the show feels like it’s turning yet another corner on growth. The number of publishers present has spiked, and the roster of artist alley (“Artist Valley”) creators has really been kicked up a notch this year with very impressive talent. Add to that the fact that they’ll be hosting their first annual Excellence in Graphic Literature Awards on Saturday night, and you get a pretty clear picture of the emerging stature of the convention, not just as a popular show, but as a growing institution.
Friday, the first day of the show, was extremely busy on the show floor, so I’m guessing Saturday is going to be even more thronged.
Here are a few pictures from Day One, the calm before the storm!
