Three Reasons To Be Excited About Super Mario Party

by Christine Marie Attardo

While E3 brought so much exciting news, I can barely contain my excitement for Super Mario Party. Why? Simply because I am a super fan of all Mario Party games. With that said, here are three reasons why everyone should be excited for the new game even if you’re not a fan of the others:

One: The footage released of the new game revealed some perks for owning two Nintendo Switches. Yep, the systems connect together and you can play certain games that way. Don’t worry though, you don’t need two systems to fully enjoy the game.
Two: You know what I’ve been dreaming about? I’ve been dreaming about Super Mario Party online. With the success of Mario Kart online, upcoming Mario Tennis, and Nintendo’s online service coming soon, it seems quite likely that more games will incorporate online interactions that way. We received confirmation from Nintendo Treehouse that this game will incorporate an online mode. It will be called ‘Online Mario-thon’, where players will compete in five randomly selected minigames aiming to get the highest total score.
Three: The game is returning to its core, original roots. That means the game play returns to a competitive mode that we all crave. Mario Party was always a competitive game. The last full version of the game on the Wii U was a collaborative game. I pretend it doesn’t exist because that’s how awful it was. This one looks fantastic.

Super Mario Party releases on October 5, 2018.
