That Time Mega Man Tweeted Happy Birthday To Sonic The Hedgehog
by Christine Marie Attardo
This weekend brought a very happy birthday to our favorite hedgehog. Yes, Sonic turned 27 years old. It’s hard to imagine that we’ve been speeding through levels, collecting gold coins for that long, but sure enough!
Here's to 27 years of speedy hedgehogs, rescued animals, and a whole lot of gold rings.
Happy Birthday, Sonic!

This photo, among others, brought me right back to childhood:
Happy Birthday Sonic the Hedgehog! The original classic was released on this day for the SEGA Genesis 27 years ago.

Sonic the Hedgehog was my first video game ever. I got a Sega Genesis for my seventh birthday and played the first Sonic game for hours and hours.
According to Sonic’s Twitter moment:
The famous blue Sega mascot had his first adventure on the Sega Genesis in 1991. The first Sonic game was released on the Mega Drive outside North America early in 1992.
Mega Man took to Twitter to share support for his friend:
Happy Birthday, @sonic_hedgehog! From one blue hero to another, keep on foiling that evil doctor's plans.
Run, Sonic! For everlasting peace!— Mega Man (@MegaMan) June 24, 2018
I don’t know about you, but I like it when video game characters support one another…
While I wasn’t a fan of the Mega Man games, I am all for more things like this happening on social media. Brings a smile to the gamer inside of me.
What video game characters give you all the nostalgic feels?
