Back To The Future 2 Single Nike Sneaker Sells For Nearly $100k

by Olly MacNamee

The Hollywood Reporter are informing their readers that the single sneaker created for Marty McFly (Michael J Fox) in the futuristic (well, it was then) Back To The Future 2 sold for nearly $100,000 in auction on eBay. I like my sneakers but this is ridiculous. I mean, it’s not even the pair we’re talking about here.
The Nike Mag sneaker (just the one, remember) was created for this film over thirty years ago now, and were recently released as a very limited run back in 2016, with only 89 pairs ever created. These are the shoes that had the laces tie themselves, although back in 1989, these power laces were all CGI.
So, the lucky new owner, if they chose to wear it, will no doubt not only look odd with one sneaker on, but have to get down there and tie ’em up themselves.
