Children Of Blood And Bone Author Appears On Tonight Show’s Summer Reads With Jimmy Fallon
by Christine Marie Attardo
Last month, Tonight Show host, Jimmy Fallon put a call out for fans to vote on his Summer read. YA Best Seller, Children of Blood and Bone written by Tomi Adeyemi won the contest with flying colors. As fans rejoiced, other readers that might not have heard about the young adult fantasy book were also drawn in. Fallon utilized his social media accounts on Instagram and Twitter all month long to connect with fans and enjoyed the read.
While I had assumed there would be a follow up on his show, I was surprised at how quickly Tomi was invited to attend. I mean, how cool is this? In the mainstream media, many authors don’t get this type of attention. People are describing her as the next J.K. Rowling, so that might have something to do with it. Though, I will say, I’m about three-quarters of the way done with the book and I am loving the world she has created.
I can’t say whether or not the Potter-comparison is true. It is such a different magical world. Don’t get me wrong. It isn’t different in a bad way, just unique to anything I’ve ever read. I am savoring each and every word as I finish it up. While I know there will be a movie and another book, I feel that the wait will be painful!
