Archie Brings Comics To…Spotify?

I’ve heard of creators making Spotify playlists as soundtracks for their comics, but this one is new for me. Archie Comics has announced a new six episode series from Madefire debuting on the music platform based on the relaunched Archie comic. You can check these out only on Spotify right now.

Archie Comics Publisher/CEO Jon Goldwater says:

Archie has always been about trying to find new ways to get comics to fans and readers. And when the opportunity to work with Spotify arose, it was a perfect match. Being able to reposition these modern classics for new readers in this unique, motion comic format makes perfect sense and we can’t wait for fans to experience these beloved Archie stories in a new way.

These stories are being adapted from the first six issues of the relaunched Archie series from writer Mark Waid and artists Fiona Staples, Annie Wu, and Veronica Fish. I don’t fully understand motion comics, but anything that puts this stuff in front of new readers is always a good thing. I am curious how this will perform as Spotify is so well known for audio content, but not necessarily video.
