Rebecca Ferguson Joins The New Men In Black
by Erik Amaya
Rebecca Ferguson is going from the Impossible Mission Force to a very different sort of agency.
Deadline reports the Mission: Impossible veteran has joined the cast of Sony’s Men in Black revival. They call the role the “female lead” despite Tessa Thompson’s key role as the newest agent in the MiB London Bureau. Perhaps “female lead” is being employed to obscure the fact she’s the villain?
The film centers on a pair of agents played by Thompson and Chris Hemsworth as Thompson’s character navigates the agency and faces off against an intergalactic threat. Emma Thompson recently signed on to reprise her role as MiB boss Agent O. As previously reported, the film will acknowledge the existence of the previous three films starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones while forging a new future for the series. Liam Neeson, Kumail Nanjiani and Rafe Spall are also set to appear.
The new Men in Black is scheduled for a June 14th, 2019 release.
