UDON Celebrates Mega Man’s 30th Anniversary With New Art Books

by James Ferguson

Sure, Mario and Sonic are icons of the video game industry, but you can’t go wrong with Mega Man. Capcom’s blue bomber is turning 30 this year and he’s busier than ever with a new animated series and a new video game. UDON Entertainment is getting in on the fun by re-releasing two previously sold-out Mega Man art books in new hardcover editions.

Mega Man: Official Complete Works collects the classic Mega Man game covers, character art, enemy & boss designs, rough concepts, tribute pieces, and much more. It covers all ten games from the original Mega Man series, plus spin-offs, remakes, re-releases, and crossovers, along with a whole lot of exclusive creator commentary.
The same is true for Mega Man X: Official Complete Works, although focused on Mega Man’s even more futuristic successor. It covers all eight core games and spinoffs from the Mega Man X series. This franchise is near and dear to my heart as the first game was one of a small handful of Super Nintendo games I had as a kid, so I played it constantly growing up.

Look for Mega Man: Official Complete Works in October 2018 with Mega Man X: Official Complete Works following in November. They will retail for $39.99 each.
