Michael Consuelos Cast As Hiram Lodge For Riverdale’s Flashback Episode
by Erik Amaya
The fourth episode of Riverdale‘s third season, “The Midnight Club,” will see the show’s young stars taking over the roles of their character’s parents for a story taking place some thirty years ago. Cole Sprouse, for example, will play F.P. Jones — the part usually played by Skeet Ulrich. But one member of the Riverdale parents group gang without a younger counterpart is Hiram Lodge, played by Mark Consuelos in his adult form throughout the show’s second season.
But according to TVInsider, a solution has been found within Consuelos’s own family. His son Michael Consuelos will play high school Hiram in the episode. It will be his first acting role.
The episode, according to executive producer and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, will reveal “a really, really dark secret in Riverdale that the parents have been keeping since they were in high school.” It will also take inspiration from the 1980s classic The Breakfast Club.
Besides Hiram lodge, there is one other Riverdale parent without a younger counterpart: Hal Cooper. Played by Lochlyn Munro in the present tense of the series, it will be interesting to see who ends up playing the teen-aged Black Hood.
Riverdale returns October 10th on The CW.
