The latest God of War game made a big splash in the gaming community as Playstation 4 owners reveled in the sheer awesomeness of Kratos’ continued adventure. This November, his story continues in comic book form. Dark Horse Comics has partnered with Santa Monica Studio and Sony Interactive Entertainment to create a new four-issue mini-series full of Norse mythology-inspired action.
Set for release in November, the God of War comic is written by Chris Roberson, illustrated by Tony Parker, colored by Dan Jackson, and lettered by John Roshell of Comicraft. It will feature a cover by E.M. Gist.
The comic picks up with Kratos living in the remote Norse wilds after his war on the gods of Olympus. He hopes to put the rage that has defined his life behind him, but inadvertently sparks a feued with a mysterious cult of berserkers after her attempts to save a stranger from being mauled by a bear. No good deed goes unpunished, even for the former Ghost of Sparta.
I absolutely love the God of War games so this is a no-brainer for me. If Dark Horse can capture a fraction of the excitement from the video games, this book will be a blast.
Look for God of War #1 at your local comic shop on November 14th, 2018.
