DC To Celebrate This Year’s Holiday Season With A Nuclear Winter Special? Armageddon Outta Here!

by Olly MacNamee

We’re used to seasonal specials by now, be it Halloween, Summer, or the winter-based ones, such as Christmas and Hanukkah. And, it’s usually the winter books that are often the most sappy. But maybe not this year, as DC announce their Nuclear Winter Special #1 coming this November.

The holidays are tough enough as it is, but when you’re living in a post-apocalyptic wasteland (or, you know, 2018) the world can seem bleaker than ever. So do yourself a favor this holiday season, break out your best eggnog and enjoy 10 all-new stories featuring the World’s Greatest Heroes, including looks at the futures of Batman, Superman and the Flash, as well as many more denizens of the DC Universe.

Written by Paul Dini, Steve Orlando, Phil Hester, Mark Russell, Mairghread Scott and others with art by Cully Hamner, Phil Hester, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Yasmine Putri and others, and all wrapped up under a cover by Yanick Paquette, it’s out the 28th of November.
That’s some damn fine talent, suggesting this isn’t going to be anything but great. I’ll certainly be adding it in my letter to Santa, in the hope that I’ve been a good boy this year. I think this’ll make some interesting reading and I can’t wait.
Wrap up warm this holiday season, it seem it’s going to be a harsh one.
