Sequart Digs Deep Into The Star Wars Expanded Universe

by James Ferguson

Now that Disney owns Star Wars and we’re getting movies and TV shows regularly, it’s tough to imagine a time where fans were clamoring for more. Although we only had a handful of movies, the story of Star Wars grew and grew in books, comics, roleplaying games and more. Dubbed The Star Wars Expanded Universe – now called “Legends” – these works worked to grow this legendary mythos from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Sequart is taking a good hard look at the Expanded Universe with a new collection of essays called A More Civilized Age: Exploring the Star Wars Expanded Universe. This is the publisher’s third book about the franchise. This one is edited by Rich Handley and Joseph F. Berenato and features a foreword by Timothy Zahn. Contributions come from popular film historians, novelists, bloggers, and subject-matter experts, including some Star Wars novelists.
There were over 250 books published in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, so this looks like a massive undertaking. A More Civilized Age clocks in at 348 pages. It sounds like a definitive guide for Star Wars fans clamoring for more.
A More Civilized Age: Exploring the Star Wars Expanded Universe is currently available in print and digital.
