Anthony Konechny Joins Supergirl’s Fourth Season In A Recurring Role

Almost Human‘s Anthony Konechny has joined Supergirl in a recurring role, according to Deadline.
The actor will play Agent Jensen, a green DEO recruit brought in by Director Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) who has a difficult time adjusting to the department. He will first appear in the October 14th season premiere and recur throughout the season. With J’onn J’onzz (David Harewood) quitting the DEO and a number of recognizable faces either dying in Reign’s (Odette Annable) attacks last year or taking off to the distant future, the DEO had the potential to become a set of unnamed extras. Presumably, Brainiac 5 (Jesse Rath) will take over Winn’s (Jeremy Jordan) chair and lab while the latter is in the 31st Century, but it left Alex as the only other named character in the DEO. Not that DEO agents are known for their staying power.
Granted, the decreased DEO presence may be intentional as Supergirl‘s fourth season appears to be shifting focus back to CatCo. Kara (Melissa Benoist) is expected to mentor one of Cat Grant’s proteges, Nia Nal (Nicole Maines), a alien with a dreamy superpower and thoughts of becoming a hero. Which is an interesting juxtaposition for Kara, who was green at just about everything a few years ago. How this matches up with the arrival of a Russian duplicate Kara (also Benoist) is anyone’s guess.
Supergirl returns October 14th on The CW.
