One Of The Best Comics Of 2018 Gets A Collection In Maestros Volume 1

by Hannah Means Shannon

We’re big fans of the Image series Maestros here at Comicon.com, a series both written and illustrated by Steve Skroce (We Stand On Guard, Wolverine, Amazing Spider-Man) with colors by Dave Stewart, and the comic that we’ve already called one of the best of 2018 is coming to its first trade paperback collection in October.

Nominated for an Eisner Award in the Best New Series category, Maestros is wickedly funny, never takes itself too seriously, and yet has underlying concepts that make you think. It’s also full of incredibly beautiful artwork.

In Maestros:

The Maestro and his entire royal family have been murdered. Now, his banished son from Earth will inherit the Wizard King’s throne—along with a spell that turns its user into God. With enemies everywhere, will this Orlando-born millennial be able to keep his new magic kingdom?

Maestros, Vol. 1 TP (Diamond code: AUG180164, ISBN: 978-1-5343-0673-8) will be available in comic book stores on Wednesday, October 31st. The final order cutoff for comics retailers is Monday, September 17th.

It will be available in bookstores on Tuesday, November 6th and can be pre-ordered via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, Indiebound, and Indigo.
