Five Scary Movies You Need To Watch Again This Halloween Season

by Christine Marie Attardo

It’s raining outside, there’s a chill in the air, and you’ve just lit your pumpkin candle. You pour yourself a nice, hot cup of chai tea, and wonder what you should watch to keep the spirit of Halloween going? I find that there aren’t many movies new scary movies coming out these days, but there’s nothing wrong with turning back to some that you’ve seen before.
From classic to recent, here are five scary movies I think you should watch this season:

One: The Fourth Kind
This is one of the most scary alien movies I think I’ve ever seen in my life. Why? Because it actually makes you question what’s possible and what’s not. I think a lot of alien movies are creepy, but this one is more subtle about what it shows and that makes it all the more unsettling.

Two: The Conjuring
Let’s face it. All of the Conjuring universe films are absolutely fantastic. They’re tasteful and down right terrifying. Why not revisit where it all started with the Warrens? The original movie does that the best.

Three: The Exorcism of Emily Rose
If you’re going to watch a possession movie, why not go for the most terrifying of all? The Exorcism of Emily Rose is by far my number one scary movie of all time. It’s too real. It’s way too real. There are still moments where I wake up in the middle of the night afraid of the clock showing 3:00am, because of this movie!

Four: The Exorcist
Because after you watch The Exorcism of Emily Rose you might as well watch the original Exorcist movie and realize that it wasn’t that scary after all. The book is way scarier. Sure, no one likes to see Linda Blair’s face, but it’s Halloween season folks. You’re bound to come across a mask with her face when you’re shopping for your costume anyway.

Five: A Quiet Place
I wanted to add a 2018 movie release to this list, but it wasn’t easy. Sure there were many scary movie releases throughout the year, but this one was by far the best! The absolute best! Talk about tension. This movie will have you behaving a little differently after you watch it.
I’ve got goosebumps just thinking about some of these. Happy Haunting!
