Hellboy To Take On Shazam At The Box Office Next April

Hellboy has abandoned its January 2019 release for a more competitive field, the April time-frame now considered part of the summer box office season.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hellboy will open on April 12th, one week after Warner Bros’ Shazam! opens on April 5th. Its a box office title bout with two big, red opponents. Though no reason has been given for the change in release, moving into the early summer corridor (alongside Captain Marvel, Shazam! and Avengers 4) suggests a new level in confidence from distributor Lionsgate in regard to the film.
David Harbour stars as the red devil who would love nothing more than to avoid his destiny as the destroyer of the world. The film also features Milla Jovovich as Nimue the Blood Queen and Daniel Dae Kim as fan favorite BPRD character Ben Daimio. Sasha Lane, Penelope Mitchell, Sophie Okonedo and Ian McShane also appear.
Hellboy opens on April 12th, 2019.
