Big Adventure: A Fun Music Festival/Comic Con Mash Up

by Gary Catig

Imagine an event that combined the musical acts of Coachella, the geekiness of San Diego Comic Con with some of the top stand up comedic acts thrown in. That would be some experience. Well, the people behind Alt 98.7 Presents Big Adventure are trying to put on such a show. They describe it as a place where comics, sci-fi, fantasy and gaming collide with music and comedy.
During the day, the area will serve as a comic con with an artist alley, panels, signings, and exhibitors. They’ve attracted top tier talent with such creators as Dennis Hopeless (WWE), Nick Dragotta (East of West) and Ramon Villalobos (Border Town). In addition, publishers like Skybound, Boom! Studios and Top Cow will be present. The official panel schedule is not up yet, but they do hope to bring in favorite cast members and guests from TV, Film and gaming.
In the evening, fans can immerse themselves in the festival experience with three different stages of entertainment.  On their live stage will be alternative acts like Empire of the Sun, Modest Mouse and Cold War Kids. A second stage is dedicated to stand up comedy with such headliners like Patton Oswalt and Jim Jeffries. Finally, if you just want to get your groove on, hit up the dance stage with performers like What So Not and Rusko. Check out the entire performance line up below:
