NYCC 2018: Dynamite Launches Exclusive Giclée Print Program

by James Ferguson

Dynamite Entertainment is putting its 10+ years worth of gorgeous artwork to use with a new high-end Giclée print program launching this winter. This will feature some of the publisher’s most iconic characters illustrated by some top notch artists, aimed for the art collector or comics enthusiast.

The first print scheduled certainly fits that bill. It’s Vampirella drawn by Dave Stevens. This print measures 34 3/4” x 17 1/2”. Future prints will include work from Jae Lee, Joe Jusko, Joseph Michael Linsner, and more.
What sets Giclées apart is how they capture every detail of the original work that’s humanly, mechanically, or technically possible. The end result has no perceptible dot pattern dot pattern, an endless array of richly-saturated color, and every nuance of the original image. It’s like having a fully functional copy. The latest inks provide a 70-year light-fastness and UV-resistance under museum archival conditions. To add to this reproduction, a Giclée is printed on canvas, stretched, then framed.

Nick Barrucci, CEO and Publisher of Dynamite Entertainment says:

We’re incredibly passionate about the artists we work with and the artwork they create.  This new Giclée program will give fans a chance to appreciate some of the more iconic pieces we’ve published in our history. We’re beginning with a beautiful rendition of Vampirella by the excellent Dave Stevens, from there we’ll offer limited print runs of additional characters and artists on a monthly basis.

Look for the Dave Steven’s Vampirella Giclée print in the November 2018 issue of Previews, for release in January 2019.
