NYCC 2018: DC Universe’s Titans Renewed For A Second Season

by Erik Amaya

Though it has not yet debuted on DC Universe, Titans will return for a second season.
The news was announced at a special DC Universe event ahead of NYCC on Wednesday. The series stars Blue Lagoon: The Awakening‘s Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter as key Titans Robin, Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy. Though not yet a team, fate brings them together when Raven seeks out Dick Grayson (Thwaites) for help. The situation forces him back to the superhero world after a falling out with Batman. Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly also star as Hawk and Dove.
DC Universe also released a new trailer (via Rotten Tomatoes‘ YouTube Page) for the series:

Despite the second season renewal, it is unclear if the show will strike a chord with DC Universe subscribers. The SDCC trailer created buzz with Robin’s choice line of “F*ck Batman,” but the grittier feel may not be what fans want from Titans, particularly if they grew up with Teen Titans or Teen Titans GO! Nevertheless, the surprising fidelity in Robin’s costume — to say nothing of Hawk and Dove’s super suits — inspires a little bit of confidence, but it makes you wish Raven, Starfire and Beast Boy also had special costumes.
Titans debuts October 12th on DC Universe.
