Godzilla: King Of The Monsters Gets Companion Graphic Novel From Legendary
by James Ferguson
The iconic Godzilla returns to theaters this summer with Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but fans don’t have to wait that long to get a taste of some new kaiju action as Legendary Comics has announced a companion graphic novel due out in the Spring called Godzilla: Aftershock.
Written by Arvid Nelson and illustrated by Drew Edward Johnson, the comic continues the story from 2014’s Godzilla where the title character finds himself once again threatened as a terrifying new foe rises from the depths of the earth.
Robert Napton, Senior Vice President of Legendary Comics says:
Godzilla: Aftershock is yet another exhilarating entry into the canon of the MonsterVerse, and it is especially exciting to introduce fans to a brand new original monster unique to the comic, but true to the legacy of Godzilla.
Godzilla: Aftershock will also introduce characters from the upcoming movie and explore the activities of the cryptozoological agency Monarch. Dr. Emma Russell, a brilliant and driven Monarch operative, races to stop the threat as clues emerge to reveal a terrible secret. Meanwhile, a shadowy figure stalks Emma’s every move.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters will hit theaters nationwide on May 31st, 2019. No word on the official release date of Godzilla: Aftershock at this time.
