Suit Up With The Red Hook: Award Winning Webcomic Hits Threadless

by Hannah Means Shannon

The Red Hook is Webtoons’ Ringo Award-winning series from creator Dean Haspiel that has also been collected into a trade edition by Image Comics. It’s now coming up on its third series, with War Cry also out and available, and also StarCross coming up!
For the first time, Haspiel is extending the property into merchandise for fans via Threadless, with two designs featured on apparel and accessories such as hoodies, t-shirts, and stickers, with more on the way.

Haspiel says:

I joined the 21st century in 2006 when I launched my first webcomic series. Now, I’m finally joining the 20th century by going analog and hitching my wagon to Threadless to make available tried and true t-shirts and hoodies for fans of The Red Hook and other, soon-to-be revealed merchandise based on my creator-owned fare. I couldn’t be more excited!

The Red Hook is a story about a sentient Brooklyn seceding from New York and overwhelming populated by superheroes and villains. The Red Hook himself was a thief who becomes transformed against his will into performing heroic deeds. And like all of Haspiel’s work, the artwork is stunning with Silver Age tones and modern brushwork that works beautifully for all the aerial and cosmic-level action.
The regional aspect of the comic makes it feel all the more natural to represent with a hoodie! Get your Red Hook merchandise at Threadless for the autumn season.
