Archie Heads To Boot Camp In Archie 1941 #3 First Look
by James Ferguson
Archie 1941 takes the Riverdale gang back to the year the characters were first created. War rages in Europe and these teenagers are forced to grow up way too quickly in the face of it. The series has been pretty compelling so far and judging from the early preview Archie Comics has shared, it will continue that with the next issue.
Basic training has begun and Archie’s surprised with a familiar face—Reggie Mantle! Meanwhile, the teens back in Riverdale that haven’t enlisted are dealing with different woes on the Homefront—from anxiety worrying about their friends and families, to feelings of inadequacy and racial tensions in a changing world.
Archie 1941 #3 is written by Mark Waid and Brian Augustyn, illustrated by Peter Krause, colored by Kelly Fitzpatrick, and lettered by Jack Morelli. It will feature a main cover by Peter Krause and Rosario “Tito” Pena and variant covers by Derek Charm, Ray Anthony Height, and Rosario “Tito” Pena. It’s set for release on November 28th, 2018. The final order cutoff date for comic shops is today, Monday, November 5th.
