Killer K-Pop Music Video Produced To Promote League of Legends

League of Legends developers collaborated with K-pop singers and created a gorgeous cell-shaded animated music video to promote the latest character skins. The song “Pop Stars” was produced by K/DA, a virtual band starring characters from League of Legends. The virtual band members are Ahri the nine-tailed fox, Akali the neon ninja, Evelynn the succubus, and Kai’Sa the sharpshooter.
K-pop has always struck a chord with members of the geek community in ways that American pop music hasn’t. Perhaps the colorful world of K-pop evokes an energy similar to comics anime, and video games. In any case, this latest music video is another prime example of how geek culture has become pop-culture.
