American Gods Returns March 10th
by Erik Amaya
It seems like a million years since American Gods graced our screens, but the second season will finally debut on March 10th according to star Ricky Whittle (via TVline).
On the show, Whittle plays Shadow Moon, an ex-con encouraged by the mysterious Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) to serve as his bodyguard. In reality, Wednesday, as the name implies, is a member of the Old Gods. He’s come to the States in the hopes of energizing his fellow Old Gods who immigrated with their associated cultures into rising up against the new American Gods of technology and celebrity.
Based on the novel by Neil Gaiman, the series has seen a lot of upheaval with original showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green leaving after the first season. Their replacement, Jesse Alexander, also walked away after producers dumped his script for the season 2 finale. On screen, Gillian Anderson walked away from playing the god Media. Kahyun Kim took her place as New Media.
Hopefully, the drama on screen will be as exciting as the behind-the-scenes battles when American Gods returns to Starz on March 10th.
