Bandai-Namco Reveals New Trailer And Opening Movie For One Piece: World Seeker

by Sage Ashford

With One Piece’s latest game only a few short months away, and this past weekend being Jump Festa, it’s no surprise Bandai-Namco unveiled not one, but two new trailers for the upcoming title. The first is the game’s introductory cinematic, featuring Luffy on the run from the Navy on the so-called Pirate Island.

The second trailer delves more into what the title looks like in-game, displaying some of the environments players will explore and the traversal mechanics. We also get a look at some of the original characters for this all-new adventure, and a glimpse into some of the story. But more importantly, the game displays a look at the combat, showing off what some of Luffy’s signature attacks look like in World Seeker, the types of enemies he’ll be using them on, and a look at his “Gear Fourth” Boundman transformation.
Surprisingly the game seems to have developed quite a bit since we last saw it, closer resembling Eiichiro Oda’s style and fitting in better to the unique One Piece world.  Still, it remains to be seen if this will join the hallowed ranks of the few quality non-fighting anime games.
One Piece: World Seeker will be available on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on March 15th, 2019.
